If you’re looking to give back this holiday season, you’re in luck because the City of Brotherly Love is chock full of places looking for donations and volunteers.

Because we’re good people here at Metro, we’ve done all the research for you and found all the places where you can give your time, goods and even just your money to those in need.

Where to give food

There are several places in Philly where you can drop off food, many of which have been wonderfully mapped and listed by FoodPantries.org. Finding a location close to you should be super easy.

Where to volunteer

If you would like to pack meals or serve those in need by working in a kitchen the Coalition Against Hunger, a Philadelphia based nonprofit, has a listing of partner kitchens where you can give back.

Where to donate coats

One Warm Coat has an entire searchable database for you look up the nearest drop off donation location.

Feel the Warmth, a Philly area nonprofit that claims to have shared over 4,000 coats last year, is running a children’s coat drive from Nov. 10 to Jan. 16.

Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit for children, is taking donations in an effort to help 15,000 Philly area kids. The organization accepts all types of winter gear and just straight up money.

Where to donate toys

Feel the Warmth, in addition to their coat drive is also hosting a toy drive that runs from Nov. 7 – Dec. 5.

Cradles to Crayons also accepts toys (that are in complete good condition) as donations.

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is also accepting donated toys, but because it is a hospital, there are some strict guidelines for what can and cannot be donated.
