The 4th of July is a magical time to be with the people you love. While barbecues and lounging out the pool are great ways to spend the day, the holiday just wouldn’t be complete without seeing a dazzling fireworks display. Luckily, no matter where you are in the Philadelphia region, there are loads of opportunities to add a little sparkle to your Independence Day. Here are some of our top picks to watch 4th of July fireworks in and around Philadelphia.
In the city
Wawa Welcome America
If you’re staying in the city on July 4th, you need to check out the fireworks that are a part of the Wawa Welcome America celebration near the Art Museum. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. You can also see the fireworks from across the river in Camden, where the Camden Freedom Festival will be underway with a salute to veterans, live music and even a beer garden.
Down the shore
Atlantic City
The Borgata will begin their fireworks show in the Marina District at 9 p.m. The Tropicana will have another display at 10 p.m.
Margate, NJ
See fireworks from Huntington Avenue at around 9 p.m.
Avalon, NJ
At 30th Street beach, fireworks will begin at 8:45 p.m. Prior to that, there will be a free live music at 7 pm.
Cape May, NJ
There will be fireworks at Congress beach on July 4th beginning at 9 p.m.
Sea Isle, NJ
Head over to 50th Street Beach at 9 p.m. for the 4th of July fireworks in Sea Isle.
Wildwood, NJ
Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. on July 4th and if you’re on the boardwalk, you should be able to see them. Make sure to get yourself a Kohr brothers frozen custard while you’re there!
In the burbs
Clifton Heights
If you’re in Delco, head over to Clifton Heights Athletic Field (Springfield Road and Sycamore Avenue) at 9:30 p.m. for their fireworks display.
Lansdowne
Another prime Delco spot for fireworks viewing is Penn Wood High School (100 Green Ave.) whose fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
Downingtown
In Chester County for Independence Day? Head over to Downington for their Good Neighbor Day in Kerr Park, which culminates with fireworks at dusk.
