Woman Stabs Three and Barricades Self in South Philadelphia

A woman stabbed three people, then barricaded herself with her two young children in South Philadelphia this morning.

The woman, 29, stabbed a woman, 50, in the arm; a man, 69, in the chest and back; and a second woman, 32, in the arm and breast around 9 a.m. at 10th and Ritner streets.

She then barricaded herself with her children, aged 4 and 6, for about 30 minutes before surrendering to police.

The 50-year-old woman is stable at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, while both of the other victims are in critical condition at Jefferson University Hospital.

Both children are unharmed. The motive behind the stabbings remains unknown.
