‘Words fail me:’ Chesco D.A. on couple charged with murdering boy, 3

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan expressed shock today at the arrest of a couple accused of whipping, beating and stringing a 3-year-old boy up by his feet until he died.

“Words fail me. Say a prayer for the soul of this little boy. Hug your own kids,” Hogan said on his Facebook page.

Gary Fellenbaum, 23, and his girlfriend Jillian Tait, 21, are accused of torturing Tait’s son Scott McMillan for three weeks at a trailer in West Caln Township where they lived, Hogan announced today.

McMillan died on Tuesday. EMTs reportedly found Scott’s body covered with puncture wounds, bruises and lacerations.

Fellenbaum and Tait are now charged with murder, andHogan said he will seek the death penalty, the Inquirer reported.

Fellenbaum and Tait also abused Tait’s other son, Ryan, 6, but he survived.

Both children were hung up by their feet and punched, as well as beaten with a piece of alumnium siding, a curtain rod and a homemade whip.

Just Scott reportedly had his head smashed through a wall, and was beaten while taped to a chair.

The abuse reportedly started when Scott wouldn’t eat his breakfast, ABC reported.

Fellenbaum’s wife, Amber Fellenbaum, whom he is in the process of divorcing, and their baby also lived in the trailer. Amber Fellenbaum reportedly called 911, but did not intervene to stop the abuse and is charged with endangerment.

All three adults in the home were workers at Wal-Mart.

“Thanks to the Chester County Detectives and West Caln PD for their work,” Hogan’s Facebook comment, below, continued. “These defendants are going to see some Chester County justice.”
